We Survived

I tried taking both kids to the pool by myself this past weekend and we survived.  Can you believe it?  It wasn't relaxing by any means, but they seem to have fun. I'm hoping to enroll Elli in swim lessons this summer.  She seems interested and I think it would help build our confidence.  Jackson on the other hand, is just interested in running around and stealing everyone's shoes.  Great!
Look how big she is!

Check Out My Hair!

Just in case you were wondering, Elli does have some hair and it is coming in quickly.  Here is a picture of her static morning hair so you can see exactly what I mean!

Potty Update

So we weren't sure whether or not to potty train, but Elli has been showing some interest lately.  We decided not to do the Potty Training Boot Camp and just kind of introduce her to the potty and see what happens..this basically means I am making it up as I go.  We started working on it Thursday a little bit.  Since Elli and I are here in the mornings, I decided to just let her wear panties and try taking her to the potty every 15 minutes or so.  It went pretty well actually and every time she went to the potty she got one (ok 3) M&Ms.  Then, when we wanted to go outside or to eat or something, we put a diaper on and didn't worry about it.  As soon as we would get home, the panties would come back on and we would try some more.  This method seems to be working pretty well.  We had a few accidents on Friday which gave me opportunity to talk about pottying on the ground versus pottying in the toilet.  That night she told us she needed to potty by saying something along the lines of "pottying on the ground."  Once we heard those words we were off to the potty so fast and we made it.  We've kept this method up this weekend.  Elli has informed us of her need to go to the bathroom by laying on the floor and saying "change my diaper" and by just saying "uh-oh."  Both times we were able to get her there before we had an accident.  I'm not getting my hopes up, this might be beginner's luck,  Still, we have decided to keep going with it and see what happens.  I did have to stop giving her 3 m&ms because she was going so often - she seems fine with one.  I think our next step might be to do panties at home and pull-ups when we are out.  We'll see...like I said, I am totally making this up on my own and I don't usually like to do that.

Well, that's enough in one post about using the bathroom...oh the joys of being a mom!
