Whoa Its Been a While

Things have been a bit hectic around here. I'm ready to settle back into preschool routine mode.  We went to Maryland a couple of weekends ago but didn't get many pictures. Actually we only got this one picture - but we had fun anyways. Grandma Waller graciously kept the kids all day Saturday so I could get Turbo Kick certified in Virginia.  It was fun for everyone. We're headed to Richmond tomorrow and Grandma Waller and Aunt Rachel will again graciously keep our kids so we can go to a wedding on Saturday. I promise to take more pictures.

Transportation Unit

So we are headed out to Maryland this weekend so that I can get certified in Turbo Kick (more information on that later!)  I spoke with an old friend who is an amazing mom with tons of ideas for how to really have fun with her kids.  She told me one cool thing around is a playground that is right by the airport so the planes come down really low and close to the park.  I decided that would be a fun thing to do while we were there, but you know I just HAD to make it a theme. So - transportation it is!

Prewrite - get the plane to the cloud

Size sort - small medium big. She actually just did this for a minute and then played forever with the little cars pretending they were little families.  Gave me time to get dinner ready - bonus!

It.Is.Hot.

Our summer time slowed down and a bit and that was nice! We spent last week around the house, just kinda doing our own thing.  Yesterday our AC went out though so we spent today at the pool.  Doesn't Jackson just look so big?!?

We had to eat out because it was just too hot!

More Butterflies

We haven't been consistent with our butterfly unit and I hate that.  I wish we could have a consistent time everyday but with VBS and vacation and work and furlough - it just hasn't happened.  Still I'm glad to get in a little here and a little there.  Our summer has been FULL of learning so I won't beat myself that it isn't in a nice/neat/pretty little package. I have to be more flexible right?

Yesterday Jackson took a long nap so we had time to read the Very Hungry Caterpillar and then retell the story with pictures.
