More Butterflies

We haven't been consistent with our butterfly unit and I hate that.  I wish we could have a consistent time everyday but with VBS and vacation and work and furlough - it just hasn't happened.  Still I'm glad to get in a little here and a little there.  Our summer has been FULL of learning so I won't beat myself that it isn't in a nice/neat/pretty little package. I have to be more flexible right?

Yesterday Jackson took a long nap so we had time to read the Very Hungry Caterpillar and then retell the story with pictures.

Pow!

No - Pow! - is not a word to help you create images of cartoon fighting or comic books in your mind. "Pow" is what Elli calls a cow. I don't know why or where she got it from, but it is the cutest thing I have ever heard. Tonight was a "Mommy and me" date night so I decided to take Elli to the Pow Cafe here in New Bern. Boy was that a success! Between the large moving cow and the train that runs round and round, she had a blast. Afterwards we visited the sculpture garden downtown. The sculptures always change and right now its a gigantic spider.

We missed Daddy but we certainly had a blast exploring some spots downtown together.
