Boys will be Boys

My dear friend recently posted on Facebook about her almost two year old boy climbing on everything.  I think she is giving me a glimpse into my future.  Look at Jackson today...
Hmm...this looks interesting

Hey Mom!

If I just crawl in here...

I can get to you!

And here he is almost tipping over the exersaucer!

Sick Sick Sick

We have been sick sick sick with a terrible stomach bug.  Elli had it first and ended up on IV fluids all morning on Tuesday.  I caught it by Wednesday morning and was on the floor of the kitchen calling Jacob and telling him he had to get home asap.  It has been rough.  I haven't been out of my pajamas in two days.  Yep - you heard me.  I'm not ashamed!  I'm hoping Jacob and Jackson can get by without picking this thing up.  Elli is finally on the mend and I'm starting to get hungry again, so that must be a good sign?!?
This is us sick..I post it so you will notice my robe in the picture.
I took this shot at lunch time.  Awesome

Play Dates

We were lucky enough to have Elli's best little neighborhood friend over this week for an hour or so.  They played dress up, played with Jackson, and of course had some chewies (these girls love some fruit snacks).  It is soo nice to have a good friend within walking distance.  These girls love to play together. I see many Friday night sleep overs in our future!

Jam Band

Jacob is teaching Elli the art of jamming...it is hard to see her little pink guitar but she has it strapped on.
It was a great find by her Aunt Rachel!

It Is Happening...

I love to see Jackson and Elli finally playing together.  I knew it would happen someday.  We are just now entering into a phase when I can leave Elli with Jackson and not worry as much.  She knows how to be gentle and she knows the boundaries (we are talking for a couple of minutes at a time).  This morning while getting ready for church I left her in his room so I could go grab my coat.  I heard her say, "sorry mommy."  This is not a sentence I really wanted to hear.  I reply, "what happened?" and in her two year old honesty she said, "I knocked him over."  This is not ideal but at least she knows that is not good and that I needed to know.  Nevertheless, she is playing with him and he is entertained by her.  I think it is good progress.

8 Months...A Little Late

So Jackson turned 8 months old on Christmas Day, I'm a little behind!
Jackson has been doing a lot of growing and changing.  He can now crawl, pull up, and even do a little cruzing.  Oh boy our life is about to change.  The biggest difference is that Jackson is really interacting with Elli.  He follows her around and they even share toys a little bit (a very little bit).  His sleeping is smoothing out and I think that has to do with him getting over the ear infection and taking a break from teething.  Before he turned eight months he cut about 4 more teeth for a grand total of 7.  So until the next tooth cuts through, his sleeping is a little more dependable...for now!
