Don't let these pictures fool you...this was anything but an ordinary trip to the park. It started out normal. We went to the YMCA for the first time in FOREVER. I let Elli play for a few minutes while I did cardio machines. When we were leaving I remembered that there was a little park on the back side of the YMCA and thought Elli might want to check it out. Well note to self-always preview playgrounds before showing them to your children. The park was way too advanced for Elli meaning I had to climb everything and haul her up every piece of equipment. I am not currently in a state where I want to be doing that! But at this point it was too late. So up I carried her to the big slide. I made her sit on my lap so we could go down together (there was a big drop at the end). "1,2,3" I counted. And down we started, but just a few inches. Within seconds I realized that the seat of my pants was hooked on a bolt and we were hanging by my britches! I could feel the hole getting bigger and bigger and I couldn't untangle my pants without sending Elli down. So, in a moment of despair I sent Elli down the big slide by herself. She made it down, and then proceeded to fall on her face at the very bottom. I then untangled myself but couldn't go down the slide because I couldn't convince Elli to move away from the bottom - I was going to plow right into her! After several minutes of conversation and hand waving, I was able to descend. Luckily I had a jacket to tie around my waist to cover my ripped pants and we left the park. So let this be a warning to all of you mothers - always always always preview parks and always always always carry a spare jacket in case you rip your pants!
